Inter Milan have made their first offer to prise Rafael Benitez away from Liverpool at the weekend, according to The Sun.
The Nerazzurri, who recently lost their treble winning coach Jose Mourinho to Real Madrid, is urgently seeking a replacement for the Special One.
The Italian giants have also been heavily linked with a move for England manager Fabio Capello after the World Cup.
However, The Sun suggests that this is nothing but a smokescreen to divert rumours from the man they are truly after.
Benitez, who could double his £4.5 million a year salary at Anfield, may just turn down the chance to coach at the San Siro due to the immense pressure of repeating the remarkable feat Mourinho had achieved with Inter - winning a treble.
